Non-Degree-Seeking Students
North Park University welcomes students who are not enrolling in a full degree program to register for classes during the academic year or during the undergraduate summer session. These visiting students can earn college credit that is transferable to other universities, or can later be applied to a North Park degree.
Visiting/non-degree-seeking students who wish to take classes during the fall or spring semesters should complete our online undergraduate application and select the “Non-Degree Seeking” student type.
For more information about the application process as a non-degree-seeking student, please contact our Admissions Office at (773) 244-5500 or admissions@amounnorthcoast.com.
After you apply and are accepted as a non-degree-seeking student, you will pay a tuition deposit of $200. This confirms your intent to enroll in classes; it is not refundable after June 1 for fall classes and December 15 for spring courses. This deposit must be paid before you can register for any courses, and it will be applied to your future bill for classes you take at North Park.
You may either take classes for credit or audit them. Auditors participate in a class but receive no academic credit; audited courses do not show up on a transcript and are not transferable to another institution. During the fall and spring semesters, for-credit courses are billed at standard university rates for part-time students. Summer session courses taken for credit are offered at a significant tuition discount. There is an audit fee of $50 per semester hour for courses audited at any time during the year.
To register for courses during the fall and spring semesters, first view our current course offerings to select the classes you’re interested in. Contact Office of the Registrar (773) 244-5560 to register for available classes as a visiting student.
Registration Deadlines:
- Fall semester courses (beginning in late August): August 1
- Spring semester courses (beginning in mid-January): December 15
- Summer session courses: before the first day of class
As a visiting student, you may earn up to 30 semester hours of credit. To take more courses at North Park, you must apply and be admitted for full admission to the University using our standard online application. If you choose to apply for full admission to a degree program at North Park after taking courses as a visiting student, you’ll need to complete our full application process for admission, including providing your high school and/or college transcripts.
