Overnight Visits
High school seniors and transfer students are invited to participate in an overnight visit experience, beginning on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday night during the academic year. No overnight options are available during the summer or on Friday or Saturday nights. In addition, we may limit overnights during some weeks of the academic year due to holiday vacations and finals weeks for our students.
Your Hosts are Current Students
We’re fortunate to have many current students who love to share a taste of college life with students who are considering attending North Park. You’ll be staying in a residence hall room for one night, and your host will likely have a roommate.
Remember that you’ll need to respect the lifestyle expectations and floor policies of the hall you’re staying in. When you arrive, share your schedule with your host so you can coordinate times you’ll need to be in their room, and what activities you might participate in together.
What You’ll Need
- All overnight student visitors are required to bring a valid photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state or school ID, or passport. Entrances to our living areas are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by a front desk attendant who checks the ID of all individuals entering the building.
- Students should bring their own bedding, such as a sleeping bag and pillow, towels, and toiletries, as well as enough clothing for a one-night stay.
- It’s a good idea to bring spending money for “extras”—snacks in the afternoon or a purchase at the campus bookstore.
- Overnight guests often like to bring a book to read or some homework of their own. Homework is a daily part of college life and your host may need to spend time studying during your stay. You should bring something to entertain yourself during these times.
Contact the Visit Desk if you have any questions, or if you already know a current student that you’d like to stay with.
